On our way to the breakfast buffet at Harrah's we pass this statue of an older couple dressed to excess, with a poodle and tons of dollor bills. I tell Adam this will be us in 30 years. Adam takes a picture of me in front of it.
Adam and I decide to walk to the Stratosphere. We stop off at the new Wynn, where I take a picture of Adam in front of the waterfall.
I stop by to say goodbye to an old friend, the Stardust. It was the first place I ever stayed in Vegas, when Deana and I came to visit in 1998. It is scheduled for implosion in fall of 2007, so I walked in to see it one last time.
Finally, amidst a pool of sweat and exhaustion, we make it to the Stratosphere and go up the tower. We wanted to ride the Big Shot but it was shut down. Two other rides are open: X Scream and Insanity. Pictured below is X Scream, which we passed on. I did take a few pics of the ride, which basically makes it look like you're riding off the side of the tower.
And now, Insanity, which we rode. I was scared to death, but in truth, it wasn't scary once it got started. I was sick to my stomach from being spun around.
You tilt and spin above the Vegas strip. It's over 800 feet in the air.
